As a team of fellow-professionals who had been individually chalking up a formidable number of years working in various capacities in the bio-medical field, we spotted an urgent situation developing on the islands of Trinidad and Tobago – namely, medical institutions in the local public and private sectors needed to have access to world-class equipment, systems, and services in order to meet the pressing requirements of practitioners and patients.
Dedicated professional and visionary that he is, our Founder Kieran Thompson issued a signal to his colleagues, who promptly responded with the great news that they too had been thinking along those lines!
In early October 2019, a team of Siemens Healthineers from Colombia dropped in on us, to whip through a mix of high-quality training for our BMETT personnel, and rounds of engaging our customers with in-person visits.
These encounters with our partners always give us a lift informationally and socially, in English and Spanish…so Colombia Colleagues, vuelve pronto! (Come back soon!)
So what was the BMETT contribution?
Happily: to facilitate the Applications Training for end-users—thus, we at BMETT were able to ensure the start-up of the Radiology Department at CMMF…a place where the T&T public can access Computerized Tomography (CT) Imaging, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Flouroscopy, Mammography, Ultra Sound, and X-Ray.
Keeping it real and meaningful were a series of presentations by top international experts in Medical Technology—our colleagues from Siemens Healthineers and IBA RadioPharma Solutions.
They gave us facts and figures regarding the latest in medical technology, attracting grateful responses from guests who included representatives from Ministry of Health, RHAs, private and public medical institutions, business associates, and of course our own Team BMETT.
Floods are an awful experience…but thankfully, they can at times unleash a flood of gracious attitudes and generous action.
One of the recent floods which occurred near our offices and affected our neighbours triggered the indomitable Spirit of BMETT, and we arranged for securing a number of much-needed mattresses to bring comfort to some families.
Mr. Amit Sooknanan, Councillor for Aranguez/Warner Village, was on hand at our offices on July 9, 2019, to receive the donation.
